Swapping from 307 to a 350

Hey guys whats up? I'm swapping motors from my Olds 307 in my RS to a Chevy 350...Gotta few questions...What will I need to change? I don't have any computer stuff anymore...It's just carbed...Will the distributor work? Will I have to change transmissions? It has a turbo 350 in it right now....What else would I have to change..that's it right? Possibly distributor and tranny

Or there is also a 455 that I can afford to get...Would it be easier to stay with the Olds setup ie tranny..and slap the 455 in there???
Or a 400 pontiac motor? Would it fit my tranny? I can get either of the 3 motors...which one should i get?
Would the 350 be alot cheaper to rebuild if i have to...or would starting with the 400 or 455 be cheaper to rebuild/mod...I want the most horses I can get....

If the motors are all complete swapping either way isn't much of a deal if your transmission has dual bolt (chevy & BOP) patterns, otherwise you need an adapter plate or a diff trans.

You will need a different exhaust setup for any of the above swaps.

The 455 sounds nice though!!

youll need a chevy trans, new intake and distributer, chevy motor mounts and motor mount clamshells, water pump, acsesories, hoses, etc, almost nothing is interchangable except the carb and radiator. ive done this swap. the 307 is a slug. go with the chevy. you best bet will be to buy a parts car with everything you need, and just take parts off one and plop em on the other. otherwise you get nickled and dimed to death.

I'll just go ahead and buy the parts new..This isn't my daily driver...So i can take the time to make everything top notch..442 guy, Is that all I need to replace? And I think I am gonna go with the 350 because I can get a trans with it too....and I was looking and parts are alot lesss expensive than buying for the 455....Thanx in advance for the help!
