aight i have an 82 firechicken started taking motor out while it was running, bought a new car lost intrest..did a b2200 to rx7 swap and while racing lost traction spun and wrecked.. so now i gots this fire chicken to build for my tranportation to work after school.. i have a 350 but i am wondering which is the best selection of tranny - motor ... i have basic fab skills. there are lots of t/a and crap in the junk yards to pick though... i got till feb 1st to present my firechicken to my competitor and i go to school on weekedays.... so i need to know the easiest tranny to fit.... i love standard but i dunno if they will hold up to the power.

Easiest: TH200C. Everything bolts in. Want one? I've got one with 45k miles on a rebuild, worked fine when I pulled it for the LS1/T56 project. Yours for picking up.
Fabrication: Nothing is needed if you choose the right parts.
If you really want to do the TH400, you can get a swap crossmember from Hawks for it that mounts the torque arm on the crossmember for about $250. You'll still need a driveshaft, though.
You could go with a TH700 tranny and use all factory components from the JY.
