I'm having wiring issues...

Alright I'm in the middle of swapping in a 350 SD TPI for my 305 TBI and I've noticed a few problems with the wiring. First the windshield wire motor is connected to the engine harness on the TBI engine on the TPI harness it appears to me comming out of the left side of the huge 2 piece connector that goes intot eh drivers side firewall. Has anyone had to deal wth this issue?

Second, with that large black connector, the pins on the TPI harness' connector don't match up with it's receptical in the firewall. Will this be a problem? Any advice would be great. Thanx

the large black connecter is the fuse block connector. i guess you are trying to use the v8 engine harness with the tbi interior harness? this is an annoying task but it can be done. use the engine side plug from the original motor, cut it off the original harness with about 6 inches of wire on it. then cut off the new harnesses connector, and butt connector the old plug onto the new harness red to red, purple to purple etc. count the wires and colors befor you do it to make sure there are the same. if there are a few small ones like a brown or a green left over, those are either ac power, or guage senders. the passenger side, youll have to find out what colors are suppoesed to go in what pin number(location)on the plug which connects the engine, computer, and dash harnesses, then move around the tbi wires to the right spot for the tpi,

Get a service manual. It's invaluable.

I have one but it doesn't help here. It's the fact that the wiring for the windshield wiper motor is on different parts of the harness in 88 and 91 and I was wondering if anyone had delt with that kind of issue?
