I have a 85 with a 2.8L that i am parting ive never pulled a engine before. I have the bolts that go to the tranny off and the only thing holding the motor are the motor mounts. All i have is hand tools when trying to take the bolts out of the mounts that go into the frame they feel like there just sliping. Am i missing something? thanks for any help.

 

you have to reach through the frame and hold the nut on the otherside while turning the bolt. why dont you just take the side bolts out of the mounts and pull the motor? its alot easier to get at those motor mount bolts with the motor out.

 

Thanks kinda thought that there might be but my dad hasnt pulled a engine in probally 20years and couldnt rember.
