2.8 carb to 305 TBI
2.8 carb to 305 TBI
I'm about to swap a 2.8 carb firebird to a 305 throttle body engine out of a 88 IROC, was wondering if I can use the iroc harness and computer or will I need to get one for a later model bird. any help before I get started will be appreciated.

I don't think the swap to TBI is really worth it. A TBI engine only puts out 170 hp. Save your money for either a TPI or a carb setup.</font>

. It's not the TBI, it's the engine.Don't go with a stock Lo3, it's a piece every way you look at it. 305 is probably the cheapest v8 but don't use it, build a 350 or get a rebuilt crate motor. In the long run (1 week
) you'll be very happy that you didn't swap in an Lo3.------------------

HA, save up for a carb setup! So instead of the Lo3 with 170hp he should go with an Lg4 and it's 155hp

I suppose I should be more specific. Save for a 350 and either put a carb on it or go TPI. The carb is the cheapest way to go fast.
i am doing the same swap except with a 350, and i was wondering how to put a carb on the 350 because i don't want to go throught h*ll trying to setup the computer for the TPI. anyone know how? and if i do put a carb on it will it be emission legal?
