You can make most anything "fit", one way or another. 305 = OHV 90 degree, Grand Am V6 = OHV 60 degree. Transaxle won't mount to an SBC bellhousing (w/o adapter). I hear a Northstar will, though.
But, since you're going the wrong direction (from 3rd gen to non-3rd gen), I'll have to put the kibosh on this. If someone wants to PM you, fine.
