what do you have tpi or carb or tbi? either way you have to get bigger injectors or a bigger carb. and i think that you need a new knock sensor

THIS IS WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO,

Option A(Cheapest)
everything will bolt up but you need to following
1) an AFPR (So you can use the 19lb injectors, just bump up the fuel pressure to 50lbs i think.

2) a 350 knocksensor

Option B
L98 engine

1) 22lb injectors
2) Knock sensor
3) 350 EPROM

That is what you are looking at, I am going to do option A and later on I will be putting on a RamJet and Vortec heads so I will need 24lbers and a custom EPROM.

There are different 305's and different 350's out there. To properly answer, we would have to know: a) what year & type (carb, TBI, TPI) 305 you know have, and b) where your 350 is coming from. Tranny type would be helpful, too.

Because:
1) '86-later 305's have one-piece rear main seals. This affect the flex plate/flywheel and oil pan (you didn't say how complete this 350 is, either).
2) '87-later 350's and 305's have center two intake bolts on each side with a different angle than '86-earlier. Again, you didn't say how complete your 350 is, so you need to know what you've got and what you're getting.
3) '87-later heads have center bolt valve covers. Once again, need have/getting info if you plan on reusing the 305 parts.
4) Early 350's have the dipstick on the driver's side. This affects oil pan and ability to mount the dipstick itself.

Harmonic balancers are also different between 305's and 350's.

I just completed a 305 to 350 switch today. How important is changing the knock sensor? I'm using the 305's sensor right now, and the engine doesn't want to rev when it's in gear. It revs happily in neutral. I'm also getting codes 12 and 32 which I not worried about right now. Could the 305 sensor be the cause of my problem? I also am still using the same Performance Resource from the 305.

I had '92 305tpi with a 5 speed. I now have a 355. the only other cahnges are: Dart Iron Eagle heads, hot cam, edelbrock base, and Accel 24lb injectors.

Please someone say it's knock sensor.

Camaro6speed- Are you saying you dont have to change the 305 computer if you keep the oringinal injectors? That would be cool.

If you can't get a knock sensor right away, and want to see if that's your problem, take it out and wrap some teflon tape (like maybe two wraps) around the threads and reinstall it. That'll sort of ghetto desensitize it enough to see if that's the problem.

You don't need to change the computer, but you will need to bump up the pressure and get a 350 PROM, or get 22lb'ers and a 350 PROM.

You really need the right chip, the computers are the same (comperable year of course)
