Olds 350
i have a free olds 350 to put in my 84 firebird, and i had a few questions about how hard the swap would be. i just need to know if it would fit in the engine compartment and what type of motor mounts i would need. i know most people will say "go with a olds 455 its the same size" and all that. but this engine is basically free and running, and i'm only putting it in temporarily until my chevy350 is finished, but i just want to get the car running for some summer cruising

Unless you're a real glutton for punishment, it isn't worth it. You'll have to deal with the bell housing issue; exhaust; and accessories. You'd probably have to fabricate mounts.
My advice is that if you want to drive the car this summer, spend your time and effort on speeding up the progress with your Chevrolet motor. As with most motor swaps, the actual motor itself is only a small fraction of the total cost of making the car work with it.
