I have an 89 RS with good body, but with a 2.8. I was wondering about swaping with a 4.3L, since there are many upgrades for it along with installing a 5 speed. In doing this i would drop all electronics to make it easier. I was wondering what problems i will encounter (bell housing?) or other motors i should consider.

 

going to the 4.3 is just like going to a 305 or 350 because they use the same design.

the 2.8 is 60 degrees and the 4.3 5.0 5.7 are 90 degree blocks

or something like that.

i would just go with a 305 or 350 unless you have the 4.3 ready to go...
