are these the right heads??
ok.. well as time ticks down to the lift-off of my 406 project i am beginning to shop around more and more. *notice the BBK T.B. post* and i want to try to make about 500 hp out of it. i am looking @ AFR 210 heads. would that be good/overkill or should i go with 195's? thankfully CHP did an artile on different engine combos. and 1 of them was a 485hp 406. im thinking about just copying it except im putting TPI on there. *big mouth, larger runners, 58mm T.b. ect...ect...* the reason i dont want the miniram is because it*mini ram* doesnt get its power till after 6500 rpms and i dont plan on reving a 406 past 6000. most of it's *the 406* power is around the 5000-5500 rpm range. any other inputs?

Either head you get you will need to have them hand-ported. For the money, the TFS 23* heads are cheaper, and then with a good port/polish around $650 you can match the AFR price and beat the AFR's in airflow. The competition package porting on the AFR's from them is not cost effective. I think the 210 heads need to be port matched to the intake in order to get the correct fit/angle. You might want to call AFR to verify.
You can get the power you want with ported Trick flows or ported AFR 190-195's.
Get your lower intake hand ported also, and get the lower and runners extrude honed for more flow. The intake is the most restrictive part of the tpi system.

lol.opps i should have included that everything is getting ported/polished. actually hes doing it for free.. 1 because i told him where his friend can get a 79 T/A 6.6 for $1000 in perfect condition and 2 becuase im taking my car in *with 10k* for them to play with. but yes.. everything is getting ported. now what about exuast?? SLP's 1 3/4" headers..into what muffler??Borla XR-1, Flowmaster 30-40 series, SLP loud mouth???
