2.8 to 3.4 supercharged? need info!

ive been looking in the archives for info on 3.1/3.4 or 3.8(non turbo) swaps. i have a 2.8 mpfi auto right now and feel that i need more power. im debating whether to just put in a V8 but i would feel unique if i built up a 6 and surprised all the v8 owners after i beat em on the street. while looking through the archives i found out that the 3.4 is a fairly easy swap and people who have done it are very satisfied. I also came across someone who said i might be able to take a supercharger off a FWD 3.4 Bonneville and hook it up to my RWD 3.4. Is that possible?! if so, would it be much work? also how much power would i get out of this combonation? thanks in advance guys!

I feel the 2.8 pain... I was actually just going to switch to a v8 but you have a pretty good idea... if it is possible, that would be so... whats the word, good?

try posting in the power adders section. they will know if the turbo will work or not. The 3.4 swap will be alot easier than a V8 swap. Ked85 or something like that did the swap and was/is talking a few people through it. Check the V6 Board and archives, I know i have read alot of the stuff about it.

Try this site http://members.nbci.com/dlagrua/turbo.htm They built a 300hp supercharged V6 Fiero. Since Fiero's run the same 2.8L Multiport fuel injection as the Camaro, they may be able to guide you down the right path.

I'm sorry to tell ya, but the FWD motors have the intake on 180* out.

you COULD bolt the blower on (2.8/3.1/3.4 use the same block, just stroke/bore changes) but it would be sticking through the firewall.

I was thinking about doing the same thing to my mom's '96 3.8 until I found that out.

I used to have a 2.8 in my car, I had a 3.4 built up (heads, cam, ported intake), it cost me $2,500 and it only made 215HP/270FtLbs. I could barely keep up with stock AOD 5.0s

I threw a Goodwrench350 (265HP/350FtLbs. factory rated) in my car for $1,400 including shipping and its a TOTALLY different car now.

It has so much torque I have an extremely hard time not spinning the tires and getting sideways, driving in the rain is almost out of the question. And I don't have any problem beating modded 5.0/T5 stangs.

(I should have gone to a V8 4 years ago!)
