stupid tranny bolts

I can't get two of the bolts that connect the transmission bell housing to the engine off. They are located on the passenger side of the car. I can't seem to get a hand ratchet to them and they're on too tight for my air ratchet. Will I have to remove the transmission with the engine or is there some sort of trick to this?
(the bolts on the drivers side were so loose I removed them with my fingers!)

Thanks

Pull the distributor, and use a wrench from above.

Go put some of the driver's side bolts back in, and crank 'em down. Right now those remaining two bolts are getting all the stress. My air ratchet couldn't handle 'em, either. I wound up using 1/2" hand tools, including a long extension, and a universal (swivel) adapter.

Unless the trans rear is disconnected or they're missing, the dowel pins are taking the shear stress.
