I ask about using them on tall deck blocks and this is what I got for an answer.
Our '82-'92 for BB & SB have been in production now for a few months and are working out great. Like our other headers we make each one to order so if you have a tall deck and raised port heads we add those diamentions to the header so it fits properly. The BB header fits the factory frame and "K" member, it has 2 tubes on the passenger side and 1 tube on the drivers side that go around the frame. Has good ground clearance, spark plug, oil pan and starter clearance. The tightest area is around the transmission and collectors because of the shape of the floor board. Comes with slip on merged type collectors, with a transition cone inside, 3/8" flanges, TIG welded etc. They cost $850.00 for any tube size up to 2 1/2" with step or non step design.
Thanks again, Dan Lemons
I guess going around the frame and crossmember solves the clearance problem the the Hookers have. Can't fit all the tubes through a tiny opening, route them somewhere else.
Although I never got a chance to look under the hood I saw some interesting headers on a dodge stock eliminator car today. The exhaust exited in front of the front wheels. Not enough room to go backwards, go forwards.

The headers they are making for me are a custom job and not a catalog item. You will need to remind Dan that you are interested in the Tri-Y design he is currently fabbing for Jon and his big block '89 Firebird.
