305 TBI to 350 TPI
305 TBI to 350 TPI
I have a stock 85 Camaro with the 305 TBI and Automatic Tranny. I also have a TPI system complete with ECM from 86 Camaro Iroc 305. What I want to do is put the TPI on a 350 and put it in the 85. So far I have another gas tank lined up with electric pump in the tank, and am planning on a wiring harness (86 Iroc) from Painless. I am looking at getting a EPROM from the local Chevy dealer for an 88 Camaro 350. Does anyone see any possible problems or suggestions?
I'm doing the same swap, and I also have a lot of questions. Did you already got some respons to it or did you find some more info about the swap?
I have a ZZ4 and want to use a tpi but I don't know what I have to change to the tpi to make it run ok...
Any help would be grate!!

I, too, am swapping from 305 TBI to 350 TPI. I have an '86 L98 from a Corvette and will be converting it from MAF to SD.
If you can't find a speed density harness at the junkyard for some reason, or want to buy one new, here's the cheapest I've found from GMPARTSDIRECT:
12080890 Speed Density Wiring Harness 447.60
I've heard far, far too many horror stories about using Painless, etc., versions.
------------------
1992 Pontiac Firebird Formula (original 305 TBI) The project has begun:
just purchased 350 TPI, Dual fan setup, OEM Posi, GM 3.42 gears and JEGS Ultimate Support Cover for 7.5 rear.
1997 Chevrolet Camaro SS # 379 (1 of 371 Black, T-Top, 6-speed)
1973 Chevrolet Camaro RS/Z28
1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS 350
RIP Dale Earnhardt.
