Big Block!
Big Block!
I have a chance to get a big block 455, really cheap. so i was wondering what all has to be done to convert the 87 T/A of mine into a Big Block, is it just the motor mounts or is there more?
There's alot more. Mounts, exhaust, transmission, trans crossmember, torque arm, cooling, fuel system, ...
If you must have a big block BBC's are the easiest. Even then there's still alot of prep work.

Big block 455 means nothing. Olds, Pontiac and Buick all produced a 455.
As stated above, putting a B-O-P 455 into a third gen isn't impossible but you'll have to fabricate everything to do it. The only easy big block swap is a BBC.
You'll also need to change your transmission. Chev bellhousing bolt pattern is different than B-O-P.

I could have sworn I read that Pontiac intended to put their engine in the 3rdgen firebird. It should fit.
