TPI to carb...Tachometer??

Just did the tpi to carb swap...how do I get the tachometer to work? I think it used to read from the ignition module but I'm not sure. The HEI distributor I am using now has a terminal marked "tach" but I don't know where to connect it to and if it will not harm the tach. Thanks in advance (no pun intended).

on your old coil harness there was a pink and a white wire going to the coil. the white wire is the tach. hook the white wire to the tach lead on your hei.

So the pink wire is the + for the distributor? I tried checking power at it and get nothing?

The pink wire on my car is hot when the ignition is on and dead with ignition off. My computer is still in the car if that has anything to do with it?
Oh yea, I like the carb better than the injection.

On my TPI 89 Firebird Formula, the ECU will still control the fuel pump, so removing the ECU would disable fuel. I left the ECU in and now its sole purpose is to provide VATS security and control the fuel pump.
