Calling all TBI to TPI swappers!!Question regarding the wiring??
I'm putting a 91Z-28 TPI engine in my 92RS(tbi)..the Z was an auto car,I have the complete harness out of it.My RS is a 305/5speed car.Problem areas are the wiring harness connectors that connect to the underdash harness by the ecm and the wiring that connects to the firewall by the brake booster.Does anyone know what colors represent what?I know the connectors will plug in but they are pinned differently and the wire colors differ from the original...

Hmmmm...if your car is a 92 and the TPI is from a 91, they should be pinned the same. The connectors on your firewall by the brake booster are your fuel pump and fan relays and your ESC module (BTW I hope that you swapped you got a 350 ESC module). They should hook right up and all be the same color. I'm not quite sure what underdash harness you're talking about by the ECM. The VSS module? If you're usinga computer from a 90-92 the harness should plug right into the ECM. What colors do you need to identify? A good idea would be to get a Haynes manual for our cars, they have fair wiring diagrams.

I took the harness out of a 91 t/a and have the same exact problem. When you hook up the two clear connectors right by the ecm none of the wires line up right? well you have to get the wiring diagrams heres one for tpi.
