Question about swapping 305TPI to 350 carb...

OK its a 5.0 TPI coming out and a 350 from a 1970 Monte Carlo going in. The question is about the harmonic balacer. Do I keep the one on the 305 or do I put it on the 350. The 350 was originally with an auto tranny in is being bolted to a T5. Does this make a difference. I think I should keep the one that came with the 350 in 1970 on the 350. Am I wrong?

As far as the balancer goes, you are right. Keep the 350 one. The flywheel from the 305 won't work on the 350, if the 305 is newer than 86 I believe. The 70 has a 1pc. rear main. You would need to buy a 2pc. rear main flywheel of the same diameter, 153 teeth, to make it bolt up. You didn't mention any problems with that so you may have that figured out already.

'70 has a 2 piece rear main, so correct, you need a 2 piece rear main flywheel.
