Largest engine?
I'm interested in doing a motor swap down the road on my car, but I'm one of those guys that loves sleepers.
Based on the information on the car (in my sig), what would be the largest TPI engine that would fit in my car's engine bay, without altering the stock look of the car from the outside?
Thanks
------------------
1989 GTA: 350 5.7L TPI, 3.5" Y-Pipe, 3" intermediate pipe, Dynomax Super Turbo muffler, twin 3.5" cats, 700R4 transmission, aluminum driveshaft, K&N, 105 Amp Generator, 3.27 gear ratio, axle positraction, limited slip, Dunlop SP Sport 4000 tires (Z-rated, A-traction in all environments).

Since all SBC engines are the same external size then a 434 is about the biggest you can have without going to some exotic block. An aftermarket TPI needs to be used.
If you want to go BBC then a 540 will fit, again with some aftermarket TPI however a cowl hood may be required.

if you want a real sleeper put in a 3.8L grand national engine and let them hear the bent 6. Then blow them away

I think a good ol' Hemi would be nice.

Has almost everything you'll need. I also have a site for adding Viper engines to non-Viper cars. they sell pretty much everything you will need for teh conversion. I'm not sure though. I don't know exactly what must be done.

If only I had $14,000 for a 528 Hemi. What sort of power would one of those put out? I think the 426 was a beast. What would you get with another 100? I think it's around 600hp.
Even though it's not GM, they were still great eninges. It's too bad GM didn't come up with an engine that burns fuel so efficiently.
