also buy a haynes/chiltons manual. label everything (EVERYTHING)and go as slow as you can. take before pictures to reference how to assemble.

Re: PULLING MOTOR OUT!
I just pulled my 305 TPI last weekend. Do everything ape said, label everything (electronic connections). I ended up dropping the k-member a few inches so I can reach the back bolts on the top of the bellhousing. Then its straight up...

Re: PULLING MOTOR OUT!
I'll chime in too. Label everything, and go buy some sandwich bags, and bag up every bolt and label the bags, makes things WAY easier. (I just did that today, taking my motor apart tomorrow, and pulling it out saturday) Good luck!

yup. I used masking tape, a sharpie, and sandwich bags too!
Re: PULLING MOTOR OUT!
i just recently did my first swap and thought i would let you know its pretty easy as long as you dont have distractions. make sure u dont over tighten the bolts on your chains when you bolt them to the block, just snug will do.
