if yoru gonna bybass it just take off the vacume line and plug the line. the egr valve will always think your at wot(wich doesnt matter) and at wot there is no engine vacume so your egr will not turn on.

your check engine light will come on and you will get an EGR code. the computer knows weather or not the EGR valve is open via the mass air flow sensor. and you will have to retard your timing also. the EGR is on there for a reason, keep it there. at wide open throttle it closes anyway, so i suggest you keep it. i helps with fuel mileage and emmisions, and like i said, it does not hurt WOT performance.

the EGR will also lower cumbustion chamber temps.

If you disable the EGR (or in the case of a Miniram which doesn't even have one), you must modify the eprom. Generally, we increase the "enable temperature" to around 150*C to ensure the ECM doesn't even try to turn on the EGR. There is also an "EGR Diagnostic Switch" which will turn off the SES code for a non-functioning EGR...but you have to do both in the eprom.

As the others said, there really isn't much of an advantage to diabling the EGR (if you have one). Disabling the EGR will keep the incoming air's temperature to be a little lower - but not enough to write home about. I think the other advantages of having a functioning EGR outweighs the small decrease in the incoming air's temperature.
