305tbi to 383 Carbed

Ok guys next semester in school i want to do a 305 to 383 swap. I have the block and the stroker kit will take car of the bottom end. I plan on replaceing cam, heads, intake, carb (swap from tbi), air filter, and distrubitor with after market stuff. Is there any thing i have to switch out to make this fit. Is there anything i SHOULD swap out.

i think you named it all. just replace the entire motor. you'll be all set. what do you plan on doing as far as fuel pump/fuel lines? make sure you think about that. also, you will need a kit to hook up your throttle and TV cable (assuming you have an automatic).

Just did a 2.8L >> 377ci swap, although mine was carb to carb it was still different, went to salvage yard for V8 throttle cable and bracket, bought a NEW TV [25$] cable cause that isnt something you want to be replacing more than ONCE [what a be-otch], specially if you have solid motor mounts like i do.

Unless you have paid big bucks for your rotating assembly, you're going to need an externally balanced harmonic damper and flexplate/flywheel. This will likely drive a starter change as well.

Are you doing anything to the exhaust?
