Re: cam break in

is it roller or non-roller?
Rollers are easy

I had a mechanic tell me about my roller cam once.......did you start it? It's broken in

If it's not a roller cam, you'll need to follow the procedure of running it up to X RPM for 20 Mins and so on

So, is it a roller cam?

Re: cam break in

Ok, I'll nevermind looking around
After re-reading your post I see you are on the right track
Yes, you 'bounce' it around for about 20 Mins, but you have to keep it steady and between 15-2500 RPM
Don't rev it and don't idle it
Be nice and gentle with it
Get it running and take it to the RPM range and hold it there
Never hold it at the same RPM for too long, change it a bit up and down for the 20 Mins but try to just change the RPM and hold it where you changed it to
It's not that picky of a process, but I am
Then you drive it very gently for the first 500 Miles and do an oil change
