HELP PLS tranny to motor issues

1991 camaro rs 700r4 stock
chevy 350 1982 motor
350 flywheel and 305 700r4 torq converter

when bolted together motor wont spin,

what do I do ? do I have the flex plate backwards? as I loosen the tranny off on each side I can spin the motor tigten it up and not spin again!!! maybe the wrong convertor please help!?!?!?!

Sounds like the converter is not engauged into the pump. You should have to rock the converter back and forth and push in at the same time. You should feel it go in and then go in a second time and bottom out. Once you put the transmission bell housing bolts in, not tight, reach up and turn the converter, should move free. Check again after you tighten the bolts on the bell housing

ok so i think I may have a issue now


I bolted the torq to the flywheel then bolted the tranny to the motor I think I messed somthing up

I have a torq from the 350 swap from the 4x4 tranny is it the same?

ok so I think I mess up the tranny I must have, I took the tranny off and put the converter in and I still cant spin it at all, i must have broken sumthing by havin it on he engine when I bolted it up, what do you guys think? if i had the motor bolted to the tranny with the torq not in right would I break it?

You need to bolt the flywheel to the crank at the back of the motor, then put the converter in the transmission, then bolt the transmission with the converter to the engine, this is the point where you make sure the converter spins freely, that is how you make the converter bolts align to the flywheel or flexplate. When you put these three bolts in use loctite on them. Make sure all three bolts will go all the way in and the converter turns freely.
