dropping the k-member is the easiest if you have the means.

Re: pulling 4th gen engine

Unbolt the k-member, take the ones out of the bottom first, then unbolt the struts. The only way to get a motor out of a 4th gen.

It can go in and out from the top.

just remove the driveshaft, torque arm mount, and crossmember
remember to unplug any wires, cables, hoses, etc that go to the tranny.

Not with one that was in a front end collision.....

if you want to take it out the most complete without having to disassemble most of the motor, take it out from the bottom, I've pulled a bunch from 4th gens and that's the quickest.

Re: pulling 4th gen engine

ive seen several 4th gen motors pulled and installed through the top.As long as the damage isnt too bad in the front you can do it that way too.

I know the k-member way is the easiest and fastest. you did notice I was the first to post in this thread.

The way you phrased your post can be misleading,
The only way to get a motor out of a 4th gen.
someone reads that and may think it can't come out of the top.
