how to hook up the vss

I have a 88 camaro that had a 2.8 and swapped with a 5.7 tpi.I put a 89 firebird harness in it car runs good.But how to hook up the vss. Any help would be great THANKS

I'm afraid I can't supply details, but I believe your '88 had a cable-driven speedometer, and the '89 'Bird would have been electronic. Your new transmission is what? If cable, and you're using the cable to drive the speedometer, then you need a transducer drive. The question was recently asked by another member, and a link provided.

Trans is a 700 R and cable drive. Is there any way to hook the vss to the one in the speedo instead of buying one for the trans?
