L31 crankshaft question
I recently bought a L31 vortec long block that im gonna put a HSR on and put in place of my 305 but i hit a major roadblock. While tearing the motor down to put in the forged pistons i noticed that the ******* who sold me the motor forgot to mention he spun a bearing (said car was wrecked and his son almost died, ya ok pulled me in like a sucker) so now i paid $500 for a motor that i still need a crankshaft for because the damage to the crank is bad about a 1/16 of an in of material gone maybe more. So now i need a new crank but some one near me on craigslist has a crankshaft from a 350 goodwrench motor for only 75 bucks it looks brand new would this crank work (im assuming it 1 piece rms but u guys would know more than me about them motors i never looked into them)? Also is it the same strength as the one i have because i heard the L31's have good cranks and rods any help is appriciated thanks.

Re: L31 crankshaft question
No, the Goodwrench 350 uses the 2 piece rear main seal. There are adapters available, but they're not worth the cost. have you even checked your local salvage yards? Any '87-up 350 crank will do.

Re: L31 crankshaft question
I believe any 87 up 305 crank will also work but require a balance, But a 1pc RMS 350 crank shouldnt be a hard thing to find.
