305 tbi to 350 tpi or carb

305 tbi to 350 tpi or carb

ok getting ready to start my motor build i have a 305tbi in my firebird im going to build a 350 for it and have a tpi setup with heads and everything but dont know if i want to fool with all the computer crap just wondering witch would be more maintanance free the carb or the tpi and which will give better performance any sugestions

A stock TPI will barely feed a stock 350. If you have even a very mildly built 350, the TPI will fall flat on its face. Unless you plan on going to a Holley Stealth Ram or Accell SuperRam setup or something of the like, your in for a lot of headaches and dissapoinments. If you know how to tune a carb, it will be way easier, but not even remotely legal. If you have emissions testing and inspections, youll need all the AIR stuff and fuel injection.

350tpi with HSR swap. thats my set up and its the best way to go. you get more power thru hsr then carb

True, but HSR isnt cheap. Used carbs can be had a lot cheaper, and a rebuilt kit doesnt cost much either.

But the HSR will be new. Buying used is usually buying someone else's problems. It would cost more to convert over to carb with new, reliable parts than it would be to install an HSR.
