Vortec 350/4l80e w/ ECU $1000.00??
I think I may have found a deal worth taking. Its out of a 2000 model express van, has 200,000 on it but runs like a champ. $1000.00 includes motor, trans, ecu, wiring harness, all sensors... everything. Its in the van as of now, but the van is at a shop and he said we will lift it up and cut it out with a torch to save time! Easy pee-z... Think I should go give this guy some cash??

Half the offer
At 200k, that thing is about to keel over. Count for an engine and trans overhaul before thinking of dropping them into a car you would consider remotely reliable

really? I have been looking online, and I cannot find anything CLOSE to that price, everyone else wants $600-800 JUST for the engine. I know about the rebuild...

Its a common L31. Think L98 with a funky induction setup on top
Theres about a dozen at the local yard for $150 with everything
The biggest selling point is the 4L80E, but it needs an overhaul so you can count on $4-800 to overhaul the engine and about the same for the trans
Add in harness mods, a PCM tune, fuel system upgrades (think LSx with a return line), trans tunnel and crossmember mods to fit the '80, shorter DS, upgraded exhaust to fit the '80, etc
Doesnt seem such a good deal anymore does it when a low miles LT1/LSx drop out is about a grand more and about 150hp more stock
