dead holes
need some help if you can i just got my 305 back into my car after having it line bore and new rod and main bearings i DID not do new rings should have but did not on advise if it was not burning oil not to do so...
got the car to fire this after noon and could tell something was not right number (4) (6 ) (7) was not fireing did a compression check and (4) and (7) nothing (6) about 65psi put air down number (4) and it was turning the motor and got no air up into the carb so its not a valve? put oil down number 4 and it was over 100psi but slowly down to 0 only about a oil cap full thats tells me its rings? sticking to the piston? what do you think need to pull this thing apart and do rings or know of a way to get the rings to let go of the piston?

well first off get new rings... if not try a mix of wd40/ marvel mystery oil basically anything that is a oil/cleaner.

Re: dead holes
ur best bet is just to get some rings and re do it.. there is really no way to restore compression once its lost. and if u do get good numbers how long will it last? u can try and do the oils and all that but i would not expect to see any improvement. mix up some atf/wd40/ marvel mystery oil and dump some down all the clynders and turn it over with the plugs out. those are the best cleaners/oils see if that does anything. and put restore in the oil run it

Re: dead holes
I never rebuild a engine with the old rings unless the engine is brand new and the rings have near 0 miles on them.
