Engine doesn't have power... 350with 416 heads

just got done with the build,
91 stock 350 bottom end.
ho416 305 heads 194's/150's ported and shaved
team g high rise intake with Holley 650dp shaved choke housing
running 12 deg advanced right now still messing around with it.

the car runs smooth just it seems like it actually lost power with the 416 heads over the swirls. got any ideas on what to try?
i am going to try a vacuum gauge to adjust the valves and see if thats the problem

Why did you choose a big, single plane intake? How have you tuned it so far?

re: Engine doesn't have power... 350with 416 heads

i had the intake in the shop, mostly just ran it with open valve covers to adjust the push rods/ put the timing at 12 advanced dtdc ive been told to run it close to 14-16 advanced but i think that would be to much for my set up.
autolight oem plugs.

ive noticed that its starting to get better just form driving it. it pulls pretty good till 6500 maybe i should try a better cam/intake combo. i should have more then enough compression.

Out of curiosity... were the 416's ported by you, or someone else?

me/machine shop.. and they were just bowl clean up and gasket matching. nothing special.

after driving it for a bit last night its actally not to bad. need to run better gas, and see about timing but other then that u really cant complane

I'd still switch to a dual plane manifold, That team G, be its a nice manifold, is too large for any motor running the 416 heads. the stealth or Performer RPM would be a much better match.
