Re: need help asap

You need to drill and tap the block for the 153-tooth starter pattern.

Re: need help asap

There's no alternative. The staggered hole is directly through where the body of the starter would need to be to fit the 153 tooth flywheel, and a 168 tooth flywheel won't fit inside the T5 bellhousing.

Re: need help asap

Not if you use a 168 tooth flexplate. Certain headers might not clear the starter, though.

Re: need help asap

You can put either flexplate on an automatic. It's the T5 that gives him a problem, the bellhousing is too small for the 168.

Re: need help asap

you will need one of these to run the 153 tooth flywheel
http://www.kmjent.com/cart/product.p...7109850&page=1

the 153 tooth is the only one that will work in the t5 bellhousing.

and ur best bet is to get a aftermarket starter the high tq ones cause ur going to need it anyway

To use a stock 305/350 flywheel, or you can just get a 153 tooth flywheel for the 400.

Re: need help asap

you have to get a aftermarket external balanced flywheel to work on the 400. that why there is that added weight to make the stock 305/350 flywheel to make it external not internal
