What's up fellas I have a 89 trans am 700r4.....I bought a vortec engine from a 99 tahoe...I was wondering what should I do to it to have good torque and about 350 to 400HP? DO I NEED to port the heads, buy a stealth ram or edelbrock intake etc.. any ideas and suggestion are welcome thanks

well im a carb guy, i just prefer them. not much i can tell u on tpi. to me carb is easier to work on. very simple. not as efficient but idc lol. definatly dont over carb it. get your heads ported and polished. they flow really well.

There are ton of buildups on that exact setup. With the vortec springs, you can't cam it near what you could with a good set of aftermarket beehive springs and retainers. Are you wanting carb or tbi/tpi?
