alright guys, so im pretty new to building engines. but id rather build my own with all my own custom parts than go buy a crate engine and have no idea wtf is going on.. what i need to know is what kinda tools ill need, what engine parts, anything you can tell me, this is my first engine build. just wanna know what parts ill need to get it started reaching for a 5-600hp build, (454,406) mostly street use, best parts to use? what ill need to beef up before dropping the engine in? what equipment/tools i should get ahold of to make it easier, and all the parts of the engine i guess (intake,block,pulleys,etc) all input is appreciated list format would be nice aswell! thanks guys! appreciate everyones input

 

If you are asking " what kind of tools do I need " are you in a position to assembly a engine?
Requires careful assembly and measuring of exact clearances; not something you can do with a big hammer and
a Wal mart spanner set .
Better to get a shop to put a short block together ( the hard part ) and you do the bolt on stuff
