Marine 350

Was wondering if anyone could answer some questions I have about this small block That was givin to me for some work.I have the 305 pulled and this long block is on my stand. At the driver side back of it I have GM5.7lg and near to that is J246--i believe is the date made--oct 24 1996.also on the side is a tag rivited on saying -MERCURY.My questions are will this take a standard intake manifold for carb set up or is it different because its MARINE.Is it a roller or flat tappet. Also, what is the best way to check if its in good shape while its on the stand.Any help would be great.Thanks.

Re: Marine 350

SBC is SBC - they are all the same - so no problems with intakes or anything else. Just treat it like any other 350 block.
