Fabrication
Fabrication
Ok, i had an 89 RS given to me that was originally a v6 car. The owner before me welded plates where the motor mounts would normally bolt to. Well, i did some lookin around and found some solid sbc mounts that i will probably use. I will be putting a turbo 400 behind the motor. My questions are, how many, if any, have built a cross member for the tranny that relocates the torque arm mount off the tranny? Our plans are to build a cross member for it, an adjustable torque arm, and whatever else needs to be done. We (me, dad and uncle) have done a lot of fabrication ranging from frames, suspension, rear end swaps, you name it. Most of it is in late 20s to early 30s era street rods, mostly fords with chevy drive train. Future plans include a ford 9in as well. The motor that is going into this is capable of at least 450hp. Just looking for recomendations at this point. I have done quite a bit of looking at the aftermarket setups for this swap to see how they are put together. Let the opinions roll...

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.
I have no problem fabricating, but I'm not sure what you're talking about is worth the effort. The parts you are asking about are available from Board sponsor Spohn.
