2.8L V6 to 4.3L Vortec V6
I have an '83 Camaro Berlinetta with the 2.8L V6. I'd like a little more out of the car and am wondering if a 4.3L Vortec V6 will squeeze into the engine compartment/fit the stock transmission (5-speed manual). I am hoping to drop the Vortec in with the stock transmission. Please help, need advice!

yep, the 4.3 has the same bolt pattern as the 350. It wont bolt to your existing transmission.
As far as fitting, it will easily fit. It is smaller then a sbc and they came in these cars. Big Blocks will even fit in these cars.

You will have to custom fabricate mounts for a 4.3 V6. Although it is basically a 5.7 with two cylinders missing, they moved the engine mounts relative to the bellhousing on the 4.3.
