re: swapped engine and forgot where the brackets go on front of engine

OK - get the brackets, and one by one match them to the parts (ie alt, p/s pump, etc). Then, you know what location the parts go - should be easy. You can't put the wrong bracket on a part - it won't mount to it. There's only 1 way it all fits together.

Re: swapped engine and forgot where the brackets go on front of engine

Shifts the motor to passenger side about 1/4-1/2 inch and gave me header clearance issues

If u need the exact number on the shell for what side they belong to I can provide it if need be.

Re: swapped engine and forgot where the brackets go on front of engine

Nope fit right in both ways. If u glance at them they look the same. They need to be side by side to notice the difference.

Remember am only talking about the shell that bolts to the motor not to the k member

Re: swapped engine and forgot where the brackets go on front of engine

It looked fine. Not sure if it would mess with the drivetrain or not...if the motors shifted then the trans is, then the driveshaft is not straight with the rear. I don't know though. It was easy to fix. I took the cap off my distributor, used a 2x4 on the jack and lifted the motor up just enough to get it off the mount. I didn't even take the crossmember for the trans off, there was enough play

Re: swapped engine and forgot where the brackets go on front of engine

Passenger side of car is 039436. Am not sure what the driver side is but i know its a longer number. Even tho they came off a blazer you might still have the correct mounts. My mounts came off a 78 camaro.

Re: swapped engine and forgot where the brackets go on front of engine

Then they go on like this

This car has headers, so the brackets that go on the front exh man bolts had to have spacers, to take up the thickness of the exh man; but other than that, this is how they go

Re: swapped engine and forgot where the brackets go on front of engine

Note also, that the stock hardware was studs with a hex drive, and the hex makes a significant spacer, and those must be installed FIRST, then the brackets on top of them. There are also washers in there, and the stuff won't all fit right without those, as well. So the easiest way to do this is to use the stock exh man hardware, like I did (being lazy, I always do stuff the EEEEEZIE way), and make spacers out of short water pipe nipples or something, if you have headers.
