cut flexplate?
So im in the middle of an engine swap right now.. 305 tbi to a 357. Vortec, flat top pistons, comp magnum, hooker shortys, holley 670, etc, etc. Im sure you guys have heard it a million times.
Anyways when i got the old engine out i noticed the flex plate looked like it had been cut or broken by the bolts. I have never seen or heard of anything like this...?? Also the top part of one of the holes where the bell housing bolts to the block was broken off.
Everything has been going pretty smooth with the swap. Its almost ready to go. Im hoping to be runnin low 13s this summer. A couple things though... I need to run a new throttle cable as my old one got cut (dont ask me how lol). So whats the best way to do that? I bought a mr gasket throttle cable. Hopefully that works. Also the coolant line that was on the back of my 305 intake (going to the heater diverter valve) i ran that to the spot on the right of the thermostat housing on my edelbrock performer rpm. Is this correct?

Re: cut flexplate?
It was the engine tab so i should be fine with this new engine. I bet its because my tranny mount broke a while ago and i still drag raced with it. Its fixed now though. I guess i didnt think i could ever crack a flexplate with a stock 305 lol. I can rotate the flexplate back and forth about 3/4" with my hand

Yea the new engine had a good flexplate and its in now and all bolted up. I didnt look at the tranny tabs and now you got me wishing i would have. Oh well, i think its good.
If anyone else can help me with my other questions that would be great
