Help with engine removal, Almost there...

got a 92 rs with the 305 auto tranny. im curious whats the easiest way to remove. do i have to remove hood. and should i remove it with the tranny attched or no?

Yes, remove the hood. It will be quicker to pull it with the tranny attached. I would recomend removing the Radiator as well so it doesn't get damaged.

not too bad.. i already got the radiator out. hood shouldnt take long. as far as removing the tranny and engine where do i disconnect the tranny? this will be my first time removing an engine

unbolt the drive shaft yoke and then you can pull off the drive shaft. Then unbolt the torque arm from the tranny mount and I think you have to take the transmission crossmember off.

If you don't have a carb manifold the plate isn't going to be very useful.

just unbolt the bolts from the intake manifold, also, when taking down the drive shaft, what side do you disconect first, i took out my engine but i left the tranny, big mistake, its a stick so the clutch gets in the way, so ill drop the tranny, so. please more detail in removing the tranny
