I had success with these when I was burning wires on headers: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TRD-8815/?rtype=10

Re: bbc swap burning plug wires
I've used straight boots on all my BBC engines. The only time a BBC needs 90* boots is if the plug wires run under the headers. That's very unlikely for a production car.

I currently use sleeves similar to the ones in that link just for a little more protection through the tubes.

AlkyIroc is totally correct...should have a straight or slight bend to them (some allow you to bend a bit to fit). Also the taylor boot holders work well, but if you want a cleaner look I personally run the MSD Boot guards. I run this on my BBC and hav ethe wire laying on the header...doesnt phase the guard at all.
