'87 camaro 2.8L V6 swap to V8 suggestions and tips.
I have a '87 Camaro with v6 and would like to swap to V8 but have no clue what would be best. What motor, tran, rear end, and so on. Needs to be budget friendly. thanks for the tips. Jesse

Not much right now close to 1200. I know how to build motors and such but I just can't think of a good combo. I mainly want to get good v8 to build from just so I can drive my car again. So I need the basic's motor, tran, engine harness, probably a new computer and so on.

sell the v6 and buy one with a v8 already in it. itll wind up being cheaper in the long run.....

Agreed, however if you still decide to do the swap, $1200 isn't likely to get you very far. The short list of things you'll need is the motor, trans, computer & harness, v8 front coil springs & sway bar, v8 radiator and more. Your best bet is to find a good running wrecked/rusty thirdgen with the motor & trans you want, but that could take a while.
