Is this a good ZZ4-based combination?

I am going to build an engine based on the ZZ4 short-block and need to know if the following is a good combination:

Anyone care to guesstimate a horsepower and torque rating for this engine?
Any improvements that can be made?
I was going to go with the AFR 195cc heads and would've had a fully functioning EGR system but decided to go with the Jegs heads which don't have the heat crossover for EGR. I'm only going to have the EGR valve on the engine for the visual inspection. I'll probably have to paint the heads black to have a chance of passing the visual smog inspection since the heads are not CARB-approved. Also, the harmonic balancer will be 8" and have the timing tab in a different location than stock.

I have a 1228079 ECM that I will be swapping in from a Monte Carlo SS. I will be programming a chip with the ZZ4(with ESC) PROM data.

Should be well over 300 HP, although headers would help.

The heads are a bit on the biggish side, so you'll probably lose a little down low. With enough stall, it will be fine.

I currently have 3.73 gears in the rear end and a stock torque converter. What stall RPM would you recommend? I'm probably going to end up breaking the transmission and rear end with the new engine eventually.

For street driving, at least 2500 stall. If you want to race it, 3000 or more.

The "normal" upgrades the the transmission should be fine - Vette servo & relief valve, shift improver kit, etc. For the rear, a support cover is a big help, as is welding the tubes. And aftermarket axles.

Last month I had my LS1/4L60E with ~3500 stall at Brainerd. With sticky tires it was running 12.0's @ 111+MPH, 1.65 60' times. The rear is a factory 10-bolt housing with Eaton posi, welded tubes, Summit support cover, and aftermarket 28-spline axles (the brand escapes me right now - I think Superior). I've been beating it at the track at home all year. No sign of any issues.

Your '84 has 26-spline axles, so an aftermarket carrier & axles with 28 splines would be a good idea.
