Vortec engine, cam, carb power question
hello guys . i have 84 camaro stock 700r trans and stock convertor. the engine is as follows. 95 sbc 350 block it has flat tappet cam so i went down street to comp cams and got this cam with max lift .470 flat tappet. i have stock vortec heads (906castin number) air gap intake with edelbrock 1406 carb. roller tip rockers will this setup work and how much horsepower will i have by way stock rear end plan on changin gears prolly 373 gear need suggestrions

better check the heads for clearance.
When you give cam details, dont just give the lift. Need to post the LSA, duration, duration @.050, etc.
Never mentioned compression ratio either.

between 190 and 290hp depending on how lucky you got with your combo.

I would suggest you do the same instead of hijacking someone elses. And to answer your question, just go to advance and get a set of Ac Delco plugs for that year engine and set the gap to .045. Timing around 32-34 Total.

lobe sepration 110. intake centerline 106 duration. 270 duration @ .50 lift is 224
valve lift is .470. lobe lift .313
its the comp cam 270h-10 magnum cam
engine is out of 95 surburban all stock except for cam and double roller timing chain. which i added. stock bore and stock piston

also when i adjust my rockers arm for valve when i rotate the engine to #6 tdc the rockers i adjusted on #1 tdc are all loose. my procedure is as follows
#1 tdc At this position, exhaust rockers 1, 3, 4, and 8 can be adjusted as can intake rockers 1, 2, 5, and 7. rotate crank Adjust exhaust rocker 2, 5, 6, and 7 and intake rockers 3, 4, 6, and 8 but most rockers i have already tighten are loose plz help i think ima buy us all a 24 case of beers to celebrate when i finally get finsihed

So you have an all stock 95 Suburban engine with 96-99 Vortec heads?
I would estimate 300hp with 906 heads. If you have the stock 95 heads, 230hp.
Also, its normal for the other rockers to be loose. Just carry on the way you've been doing. Turn it back to #1 TDC and see if they're still loose. I bet they're not.
