OK I'm sick of turning my wife's Z into a beast and yet here I am toodling about in a 305 TBI RS.

I'd like to do a motor swap for some more juice, but want to retain a stock appearance even with the hood up.

Considering an L31 350 w/ a dual plane carb intake, adapter for TBI, and a TBI off a truck 350. Anyone done that? With a creative intake mod that looks close to stock but breaths better, I'm guessing this would be a huge lift over the stock 305 both HP and torque wise? Anyone done this (or 350 w/ vortec heads and 'larger' TBI?)

Re: RS sleeper swap?
Lots of guys do that with their old chevy trucks, they don't feel the 305 suffices and they have tbi so they just do a motor swap to 350 maybe even use a bigger throttle body and they get more power. But you also may have to change your gears in the back.

That's basically the "budget TBI 350" sticky subject on the TBI forum.
