305 carbed?
right now i have a 89 iroc with a 350 tpi and the po kinda ****ed up the motor and it does not run right. one of my buddies has been on me to just go with a carbed motor we just picked up a 305 and were going to bore it out get a good cam and put a carb on it. but would we really get any hp out of that 305? basically what im asking if it would be worth it or not. we were thinking of getting a 5.3 vortec motor and doing the same to it but we got the 305 and and can get a rebuild kit for free so i need a little help. and the 350 that i have i was told that it was bored .60 over so im not sure i want to mess with it.

Well the motor stalls out sometimes it's has a high cam with a shitty idle and being that is 60 over if I rebuild it I will have put sleeves in it.

Re: 305 carbed?
First, not so. Second, who says it needs a full-on rebuild? Third, JE sells lots of 65-over and 70-over forged pistons, and rebuilders use plenty of cast 80-over pistons.
