1984 camero z28 with an L82 engine
Hi I'm looking at buying a 1984 camero z28 project car from my friends dad that got sick and passed away I've been googleing and cant find any info on anything similar it has a L82 corvette engine and I want to know is it possible to have that motor work in this car and if so what else would i have to change out. Im also swapping out the 5 speed for an automatic is there a guide on how to do so if you guys have anything it would help thanks

There's nothing special or different about the L82, from any other small block Chevy. Bolts right in.

Yup... and don't forget, they all bolt to the engine the same, but bolting to the rest of the car is a bit more critical.
The only transmissions that will fit the car without modification are the T-5 and the 700-R4. And, those have to be the ones specifically for 82-92 F bodies. Can't use a T-5 from a Mustang or a S truck for example; can't use a 700 from a truck or Caprice (although if you have the one out of the F car, you can take its F specific parts and move them to the other). Anything else,,,,, ..... if you have to ask if the L82 will fit, will be a pretty tall order. I'd suggest putting the OE one back in at first and getting the car going, then tackling a swap later, as you acquire more knowledge.
And BTW, the name of your car doesn't have an "e" in it. It's always a good idea when on a car forum, to match the spelling to what's stuck to the side of the car.
