2.8 mpfi to blown 355 carbed

hi im currently working on a swap to carburetor and i know most of the basics regarding the fuel system, chassis and turbo work but am still unsure of the wiring. do i just rip out the v6 engine harness? what happens to the gauges and cooling fan? and how to properly wire this beast of a motor?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Reinstall all the old sensors into new engine to run the gauges.
Have to re-wire the fan and fuel pump to run without the computer . Do a search ; well documented on here
Need to convert the V6 tacho to V8 config

Thanks for the reply, you cleared up some of my questions. Heres another one ive read almost every thread about this and even then the are not clear as of the wiring is the starter wire part of the engine harness or the fuse box? And should i wire the fuel pump to a switch or to key on?

Should be in the engine bay harness that runs down to wherever you starter WAS

A smart person would hook up the old oil pressure switch from the V6 so it operates the fuel pump as soon as the engine is cranked over
( engine will fire on whatever fuel is in the carb bowls )
Using the OP switch means the fuel pump always turns off when the engine is turned off ; no need to remember to switch off before leaving the car

Then have a switch to the fuel pump relay so the pump can be run to prime the carb if the engine has been sitting a while and the fuel has evaporated.
Switch also serves as a manual backup should the OP switch fail

Just duplicate the factory setup ( wiring is already in place )

Re: 2.8 mpfi to blown 355 carbed

so what your saying is to tap into the oil pressure with to also run the fuel pump and run a switch before the fuel pump relay for a backup safety switch. its not an old motor, i built it from the ground up. should be getting the turbo next week or so. cant wait!!!!

As I already described , the OP switch is the SAFETY switch.
It will only run the pump when the engine has oil pressure and will shut the pump down automatically when the oil pressure drops ( engine off )

Your old motor should have had a OP switch for the pump , reuse that

No
Have a switch CONTROLLING the relay so you can run the pump manually.

LOOK at the circuit diagram I posted FOR YOU
From the factory ,the relay and the switch are wired in parallel ; if one dies the other will still operate the pump.
But because you don't have EFI , you don't need the fuel rail prime function anymore so you use the OP switch ONLY for normal use
