305 to 350, idle problems
89 camaro rs, dropped a 350 40 over, 470/262 cam, used 305 tbi. cold motor car will idle fine once its warm it will die because the rpms are to low. Note: the motor is running rich. I tried a new map sensor, no luck. took the egr off to look and see if it was blocked and working properly and it is. Car runs fine down the road. Car is in at the mechanics now, he hooked a vacuum to it and it would idle fine, he is going to try putting a different computer in it to see if that cures it ( I don't see this going to fix this)

TBI, correct?
If you swapped out a 305 and put a 350 in without doing any computer tuning, you cannot expect it to run correctly.

Re: 305 to 350, idle problems
as I wondered that from the beginning, most did not think that it would need to be tweaked in the computer. with that being said, I am not familiar with the procedure to do that. Is there a place in which I can get a chip made to my new motor specs?
