86 305 to 350 roller
I am in the process of doing a 305 to 350 roller swap. i bought a short block from an 89 formula with 70,xxx original miles on it and was wondering if you guys could give me some advice on this swap as its my first swap in an Fbody. im going to put new beaings in the block so i dont run into any trouble down the road. my main concern is the cam, crank, what kind of lifters i can use etc..
thanks you guys.

What induction will you be using?
What do you know of the short block's history?
Cam - depends upon what kind of power you're looking for.
Crank - A stock crank can take quite a bit of power. So, depends upon what level of power you're looking for. If you're doing bearings, it makes sense to have the crank checked out by a shop first. A polish may be all it needs, may need to be turned .010"-under.
Lifters - Again, depends upon what power level you're looking to make, but most likely the stock lifters will be fine, as long as they don't have bad rollers.

Re: 86 305 to 350 roller
i dont want anything to crazy. Pretty much a light to light terror. I'm sticking with the intake from my 305 but i plan on having the plenum, runners, and the base sent out to be ported and polish to reduce the drag on he incoming air. I'm not sure as to what kind of cam is in the block along with the crank, but i do know that i want to put in a higflow oil pump along with under drive pulley's and a whole new exhaust system. i pretty much want this car to put every ***** out here in their place. Also the cylinder walls havent even gotten the wear lips at their TDC mark.

You're not gonna be putting anyone in their place with a stock cam and TPI. Ever.
Skip the high flow oil pump. Complete waste of money.
